About Us
DigitalMatic was founded in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1971 by the Cordeiro brothers, Anazion, Agamenon and Orleans. Starting small, it
rapidly expanded in to a leading company in the building, supply, installation of Scoreboards for Soccer Stadiums and Multipurpose
Sports Gymnasiums. This was mainly due to its customer service orientation and by pioneering state of the art technology in this field
in Brazil and South America.
In 1975, the very first Alpha Numeric Football Stadium Scoreboard, controlled by computer, was build and
installed in the Serra Dourada Stadium in Goiania, Brazil. The success of this installation resulted in new installations of others
similar Scoreboards in another 8 Stadiums in Brazil.
In 1979, the first Alpha Numeric and Graphic Scoreboards (3 units) was installed
in the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, followed by another 6 similar installations in the largest Football Stadiums in
Brazil.
Many of the near 800 Gymnasiums and 16 Stadiums Scoreboards, are currently, after many years later, still working and maintained
by DigitalMatic.
In 1990, DigitalMatic acting as a Consultant helped the Italian company InterVision S.R.L. to project, build and install
2 Alpha Numeric Graphic Scoreboards for the La Favorita Stadium in Palermo, Italy, which was used in the 1990 FIFA Football World
Cup.
In 2007, competing with the world’s most prestigious Scoreboards makers, like Daktronics, Omega, Fair-Play, Barco, Mitsubishi
among others, DigitalMatic won the selection made by the Rio de Janeiro State Government to supply 10 Scoreboards, including 6 LEDs
Video/ScoreBoards in an approximate amount of USD 5 Million, for the Maracana Sports Complex. The equipment was installed in the period
of 4 months to be ready for the 2007 Pan American Games. Five out the ten Scoreboards was installed in the Maracana Stadium replacing
the three 28 years old Alpha Numeric and Graphic Scoreboards, supplied by DigitalMatic, which were still working perfectly, at the
time.
The DigitalMatic commitment to quality and post sales services has been the key reason for the success and long working life
of the Scoreboards. This long experience with Football Stadiums installations has provided a superior expertise and developed a unique
concept dedicated to the operation for the Scoreboards.
